Social Work
Dear SOBO Families,
I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Dominic Strangman but my students call me Mr. Dominic. I serve as the school social worker for the High School and the Jr. High school. This is my fourth year in the district as a school social worker. A little background on my education and work experience; I attended the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater where I received my Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Psychology. After graduation, I worked as an investigator in eastern Wisconsin for a Child Protective Services agency. I then moved on to work as a case manager for children with varying developmental disabilities. In the fall of 2019 decided to go back to school at Aurora University to work for my Masters of Social work, with an emphasis on school social work, graduating with my Masters in the summer of 2020.
When I am not in the district, I spend a lot of my free time being active and involved in youth sports. I am the head varsity baseball coach for South Beloit High School, and I have also spent many years coaching youth basketball as well. I also like to stay active by playing a lot of sports, specifically basketball, baseball, and golf. I do also enjoy following and cheering on all of my beloved Wisconsin sports teams alongside my dog Moose.
I am very passionate about social work and I feel very blessed to have an opportunity to support the students here at South Beloit. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
My email address is [email protected] or you can reach me at (779) 203-9571.
Go SOBOs!!
