Social Work

Dear SOBO Families,

I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Dominic Strangman but my students call me Mr. Dominic. I serve as the school social worker for the High School and the Jr. High school. This is my second year in the district but first year as a full time school social worker. I was in the district last year as I was completing my internship with South Beloit School District. A little background on my education and work experience; I attended the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater where I received my Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Psychology. After graduation, I worked as an investigator in eastern Wisconsin for a Child Protective Services agency. I then moved on to work as a case manager for children with varying developmental disabilities. In the fall of 2019 decided to go back to school at Aurora University to work for my Masters of Social work, with an emphasis on school social work, graduating with my Masters in the summer of 2020. I also completed my internship this past school year with South Beloit and then was hired on as a social worker for this school year.

When I am not in the district, I spend a lot of my free time being active. I play a lot of sports, specifically basketball, baseball, softball, and golf. I enjoy following and cheering on all of my beloved Wisconsin sports teams alongside with my dog Moose.

I am very passionate about social work and I feel very blessed to have an opportunity to support the student’s here at South Beloit. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

My email address is [email protected] or you can reach me at (779) 203-9571.

Go SOBOs!!
